Truthful curse, where everyone is forced to tell the exact, literal truth - like Jim Carrey in Liar, Liar.

Important person curse, where everyone looks exactly like the person that's most important to them.

Rhyming curse, where everyone has to speak/write in couplets or rhyme with the person above them (anybody want a peanut?)

Toy Story Curse. Where a selection of people are turned into life-sized dolls and put in rooms with others. And they only come to life when no one is around or everyone in the room is sleepig, drop over when someone enters, and everyone else can't see the "toys" journals.

The kid curse, where everyone's a little kid, either mind or body or both. Has that been done?

The Regeneration Curse, where, like a Tiem Lord in Doctor Who, everyone "dies" and comes back as a different, fundamentally altered, and different looking version of themselves for the curse's duration.

The clone curse, where characters have a double.

The Obsessive Curse, where everyone is suddenly obsessed with an object or idea or thing.

The Musical curse, where everyone can only post song lyrics and speak in music. Either pre-existing songs, or made up ones, up to you or to the muns

The Tell A Secret curse, where every day that the curse goes on the characters affected have to post one secret in their journals, with no encoding or filtering, starting with their deepest, most private one. If they are resisting it really hard, they might be able to make it vague - something like "I killed a man" instead of "I killed J.R." but the essence of the secret has to stay intact, where someone who knew them really well would have a good chance of guessing what it was anyway.

Feral curse: A specific portion of the Hotel starts acting like certain/stereotypical beasts... From lack of speech to intelligence, or just communication with people? Uhmn. Maybe some would start acting like a domestic dog while others are running around as pure monsters. It'd be very weird to see two friends meet up and find out one of 'em would rather hump your leg gnaw on a bone than talk about the weather.

...UHMN. It sounded better in my head. 8D;;

The Old Western Style Curse - Where everyone are cowboys, robbers, bulgars, the likes~ and they must speak like a cowboy and dress like one too.

Pirate and Princess Curse - Where Muns chose their characters to be pirates and/or princesses. THE CATCH?! If your character is MALE and is CHOSE as a princess YOU WILL GENDERSWAP to a female and be a pretty princess. (IE: Light is a Princess, he'll get turned into a female for that day), the characters will ALL ACT like Pirates and Princesses. Throw in an idea of treasure and see who gets to it first.

WORD VOMIT CURSE - Where everyone will think something on their mind but instead of thinking it they will say it instead.

Jedi Knight/Sith Curse - Where muns can chose their characters to be Jedi Knights or Siths. IE: DARK SIDE or NOT DARK SIDE. Could add in some other ideas to go along with this curse as well. SEND IN THE CLONE ARMY!

DANGEROUS MONSTER CURSE - IE: Aliens, Predators, anything that is considered dangerous just no Zombies. :D

Haunted Mansion Curse - Where the building turns in the haunted mansion... I was thinking more Disney Version 8D where there is a Ghost Host and the residents get to be the lovely people to have to deal with other ghosts besides the ghosts there or some of the residents turn into ghosts to haunt friends and other people.

EVERYTHING DISNEY CURSE - The residents come out from a disney movie any disney movie and the muns get chose. (IE: If Light comes from the The Lion King he'll get turned into a talking lion :D)

Hogwarts Curse: Where the building turns exactly like Hogwarts. Meaning no elevators, only stairs that change place as they see fit; people divided into four wings instead of 2, House sorting like; paintings that will try to talk to the characters and move around in other paintings... the works!

I also add "letting characters do magic and have wands, just like Hogwarts Students" to that list. *nodnod*

IT'S A GOOD IDEAD. Though that would imply for the characters to have some knowledge about magic, which they don't. :P

Also, I think it would be interesting to see the characters in yet another environment that isn't their own and see them adapt without the aid of magic. BUT. That's up to the mods to decide. :3

Alright, another one, 'cause I like to think of stuff like this.

The Revolution Curse. Meaning that all the so-notoriously-famous NPCs of the city turn against the inhabitants of the Hotel. I think it would be interesting to see how characters would behave in a straining situation such as that one, creating bunkers and teams, defending, attacking and so forth. It could even be longer than usual, and to make things worse there could also be other curses while that one is still running.

Office Curse!
Everyone thinks they have an office job for the day/few days, and acts accordingly. Either rooms turn into offices or a new building sprouts up nearby for them to work in.

I don't have a title for it, but how about one where people's memories of their canon get modified. For example, a guy who's magic in canon will temporarily believe he's a scientist or normal instead.

Okay, feel free to kick me for this, but I've got another one.

Cramped/Capsule Curse!
The building turns into a capsule hotel, and has only enough capsules to house each resident, only expanding if someone gets dumped there during the curse. (Separated by gender or co-ed. I prefer co-ed.) The closets are now small lockers and are more limited in what they produce. The communal bathrooms only have about two toilets and one shower each (and those are the only toliets and showers in town anymore). The cafeteria is a food stall across the street with a bar of only four seats. The city now consists of only the building and that cafeteria with unbreakable towering walls and an (also unbreakable) invisible ceiling that barely sits above the building's roof which isn't so tall anymore.

Here's an idea for you from the flower_crowns mun.

Sink the hotel.

As in, "Secret of NIMH" type sinking. Turn the ground underneath the hotel into something unsuitable for holding up the weight of a huge building, and start the hotel sinking into the now very-much-not-solid firmament, at a speed at which there's a good chance people are gonna get stuck if they're not fast enough and the people on the ground floor are comparatively screwed if they're asleep.

What you choose to do once it's submersed is anyone's guess.

'Matilda' curse, as in Roald Dahl. De-age most everybody and stick them in the worst, most oppressive corporal-punishment environment you can cook up, British surrealism a plus. Disobedient little children get tortured.

Optionally, the super-smart characters who normally aren't fighting on the frontlines discover that thanks to their newfound psychic powers they are CW's only hope of salvation. People who are bruisers normally, after all, are now. well. Eight.

Alternatively, stick all the kids in there and brain-numb the adults so they don't believe there's anything wrong, obviously our children are just telling wild stories. This depends on the adult/child ratio of the place at the time but it could work!

Low point curse: Affected characters are rewound or fast-forwarded to the one point in their canon where their life is at its absolute worst. (If it affects EVERYbody then there's probably very few unscarred people left to deal with a crapload of severely traumatized residents.)

MOOD RING CURSE.

Everyone changes color depending on their mood, according to a preset guideline. Can be done with icons, text, or *action notes,* but it has to be done and done honestly. ♥ Everybody gets to know how you FEEL... or at least those who can decode the color guide.

Sleeping curse: affected characters share dreams. Either it's only by night, or they fall asleep for the duration and freak the shit out of unaffected characters. Either way, it's a chance for one mun to DM for another two or three; whoever's dream is being invaded gets to set the scene, throw up obstacles, reveal as much or as little about their own character as they choose while the others are wandering around in their mindscape. Next night, new mindscape, new DM! Depending on mun preferences.

Firecrackers: Just like the name. Only that random things will explode... however, for safety reasons when things explode it's random confetti or rainbow paint. It'll make a crackle and pop sound before BOOM CONFETTI or whatever that is a non-harm substance.

Sticky Fingers: Thieves will loves this! Whatever you pick up, touch someone at random, or even grab hold of an important door knob. Your fingers will get stuck it to. The effects could last up to a few hours or a few days. This would be to mun discretion.

Heart of Gold. Oh Crap!: Everyone does a good deed. I mean it, a good deed. It must be the over the top kind of good deed. As such, helping someone out with even the smallest task. However, once your good deed is done... you'll encounter some bad luck right afterward. This could be something as small as a computer virus or something as big as a missing wallet or powerful sword.

Puzzles. I hate puzzles.: Where every where you try to get to turns into one small puzzle. It could be something as small as putting a flower in a flower pot to something as big as trying to finding pieces to a door or some random weird looking emblem just showed up on the door and you need it to get inside. ((NOTE: yeah I know... too many hack and slash and rpg games lately.. so sue me))

Mafia. Alternatively, Werewolf. Characters are told,

"Two among you are werewolves. Find them and kill them, before they kill you.

No one shall die unless a majority of voters agree upon the death.

Those who do not vote, will not be counted.

One person may be killed each day. Once dead, the werewolf will revert to his true form."

During the night, the werewolves come out, and agree on one victim. The victim is dismembered and left in pieces across the building, for the duration of the curse.

Then the day begins again, and the residents have to figure out who among them is the killer.

Play ends when both werewolves are killed (Citizen win,) or three-quarters of the citizens are killed (Werewolf win.)

This way,

Werewolves are motivated to stay hidden during the day, when they might otherwise be lynched, and smart werewolves will accuse others and start movements to lynch innocent citizens. Really smart werewolves will try to do this subtly, lest the accuser become the accused after their daytime victim is revealed to be an innocent corpse. Some very smart & unscrupulous werewolves will throw their fellow wolf up to be lynched, cementing their own trustworthiness- unless somebody decides there's only one way they could've known who the other wolf was. ;D

Citizens are motivated to accuse wildly, get paranoid of other accusers, fear for their goddamn lives, and form frightened and angry alliances which are just as easily dissolved. They have no way of telling who the werewolves are.

Obviously altruistic characters cannot be werewolves; they'll just give themselves up. UNLESS they are given separate instructions at the start: "If the werewolves win, everyone will be spared. If the citizens take you both out, then all deaths are permanent."

As a curse it requires a mastermind, yeah, but it's a hell of a fun mind game and it encourages a lot of twists and backstabbing.
