Clockwork → Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Can non-English speakers join? A: Of course! All that we ask is that you keep everything understandable. Proper capitalization and decent punctuation. When in doubt, ask someone to proof read it for you. Q: What kind of city is this? A: This would be a modern-day run of the mill kind of city full of interesting places. There's a list in the city post, but feel free to think up your own places to be! Better yet, suggest them to us in a comment at that post. Q: Can my character leave? A: No, they can't. If they try to find the limits of this city, all they'll find is that they returned to the center building (their current home). Imagine this city is like a little planet. Current residents don't know how to leave, either, nor would they like to. To them, there's nothing more beyond this place. Q: How can my character get food and/or money? A: They'll find free food in the building they're currently living in, and it's most likely their closet will provide them with the most basic needs they could think of, like clothes (whenever they need something, the closet will provide it for them, just remember they love playing with the residents). They can, however, find a job or rob a bank if they want money. Who knows, maybe some of them wants to buy a car. ;D Q: If I don't have an LJ account, can I still apply anonymously? A: Definitely! But we don't want strangers stalking our players, if you have a DeviantArt active account, for example, it would be helpful too. Q: Is there a character limit? A: Yes, there is! The limit is seven per person. Try to keep them all active, remember there is an Activity Check every month. Q: Can I cuss/swear/say bad words? A: Yeah, sure. Within reason please! No one likes someone that swears constantly. Unless it's in your character canonly to swear a lot, then please keep it toned down. Q: I have a problem with so-and-so. Do something about it! A: First of all, we really want as little conflict as possible! If it's something said IC, please keep in mind it's just RP; the mun isn't directing it at you. If it is an OOC issue, please try resolving it between yourself and the other player. If you don't feel comfortable doing so, you are always welcome to IM one of the mods and talk to them about it. Q: I have a problem with a mod/the game, what do I do? A: Contact a mod that isn't the source of your problem. The issue can (generally) be resolved right away, but even the best thing might be to message the mod in question and ask what's up. Sometimes, it isn't a conflict; everyone has bad days, even your mods. If you're uncomfortable bringing it up to one of the mods for any reason, you can comment anonymously to the mod/game critique post. Q: Can we have an original character? A: Sorry, loves. We don't accept OC's here. Q: I can't manage to log these characters getting it on. What do I do?! A: Why, go to our handy dandy Kink Meme! Guaranteed someone will be able to write you some filthy smut for you to fap to while you wait. You sick pervert. Q: How can I get to the clockworkooc chatroom? A: In the last AIM version, you must "invite" yourself. Go to the AIM menu → Chat → Buddy Chat... → Enter your own SN and type clockworkooc → Send.
